Thank you all for your kind feedback! Here is the new and improved version of the big cat head sculpt. I think it reads as much more feline now. Pending commissioner permission, I think it's good to go. The nose looks a little awkward, but it looks totally smooth and awesome with fur around it. (I noticed that my noses were a little small on my fox mold.)

Yeah I know these are vague and annoying, but I'd like an idea of how much of each color to get for this costume. Full suit; I'm 5'6 and a size 12 (American sizing). I'm thinking 3 yards for white and 1.5 for the black and orange? More? Less?

So I've had this one fursuit for a while that hasn't been worn as often lately. Why? It has a fairly long pile of fur and even after endless amounts of brushing, the fur gets very poofy. I'm looking for a way to keep the fur a little more under control now. Less static build up, less standing up and poofiness in general. Any suggestions?

so, anyone feel up to making some normal resin/taxidermy eyes for this kind of design? the slitted eye that is, not the blank one, for those who can't see the image, put simply its red outer, fading to orange, then yellow with a slitted cat like pupil with small black rings separating the colours, this would be for my alucard cosplay for octobers MCM expo here in london :) so obviously it would be good to get the eyes before then!

But yeah, I made a doc appointment tommorrow as much as I'm all aaaaaugh about the doctor, I'm actually pretty okay with it if I'll be able to hear again. Its like hearing through a wall, not pleasant.

I'm always so afraid of the doctor being all "you have 2 days to live" or something equally ridiculous. This is why I'm serious afraid of the doctor.

I hope they don't tell me I'm deaf forever.

This weekend, I shall in be London - working at Roll Britannia - the first European Roller Derby Tournament, being held at Earls Court.

Very kindly, draxar is putting me up,which is ace as there's no budget on this job for accommodation (or crewing really). I'm possibly meeting up velvetiertrout who's at the Comics Con downstairs from us.

Who else is about, and likely to want to meet up at any given point? I'm planning on taking the laptop down with me (as ephrael now has her own) so I can tweet, facebook and el-jay to my the utter delight of my blackened heart, thanks to the magic of Wi-Fi in the venue.

I'll also have my phone with me, which is hardly unusual but it does mean you can text me (or you know, call) as well.

This isn't quite a parody, but more a friend challenging me to try to draw my normal character (see icon) as a sparkledog. The results are kind of scarily convincing, so I thought I would share.

(In case you nose around my gallery and see it in there, yes I'm the same guy that posted the 'Rain On Your Rave' parody to here awhile back. I changed usernames.)

On Monday I decided that I was no longer going to drink alcohol except for special occasions (“it’s Monday” is not a special occasion – birthday parties, things like that apply). I’ve also given up of chocolate.

This morning I feel like I have a hangover. I think my body is trying to rebel against the decision.

So I'm slowly getting back into the LJ community since I've been absorbed into FaceBook and other such stuff.
I've never built a fursuit, so I guess I have to be given the "HAAIIII NEWBIE BOMBARDMENT OF DOOM" thing.
What might make be a bit disadvantaged is 1)I don't have a lot of sewing materials, let alone I gotta borrow a sewing machine to get things done and, 2) I am a cheap bastard.
BUT...I have my ambitions!
One little project I'd like to work on come next AC is..*points to display picture*
I know I'd have to get a unitard just as a base (anywhere between 30-+100$), and it looks like I can just borrow some old clothes for padding and put them in those "legging" doo-hickies. Would I need to buy a certain kind, though, to do it? Or can I just go to a sports store and pick some up?
The mouth appears to be as though I can use a hula hoop, but I question what I can do about support. Would I be able to just take some foam and shape the toes? How about the arms, though, as those are to be extended?--Don't have to be, though, but I want to be able to have that hand movement, though I might have to sacrifice that.
Would anyone know how to get all that skin detail?

I ordered some black PVC-Snake from Distinctive Fabric, and it was AMAZING, so I ordered 5 more yards of the same PVC Snake. They called me up today to tell me it's out of stock and may not be returning. Now I'm in a pickle. I can't find anyone else with affordable, similar fabric- I'm only willing to go up to maybe $10/yd.

Any advice?

Random Sue memory: Sue loved Coca-Cola in glass bottles. She also loved the glass Coke bottles themselves. There’s a bunch of them around the house that she saved, including some “limited edition” ones like the Christmas bottles and one made to look like the original 1800’s bottle.

Okay soo.. I'm making a Ninetales fursuit from Pokemon. I've already made an Arcanine one but I used a see-through black fabric for the eyes. I was thinking of either using that again but the problem is that Ninetales' eyes are all red with a white spot in the corner.
Sooooooo I was looking around and I decided to cut out the eyes out of plastic mesh and paint them. Has anyone done the whole eye out of mesh instead of a taxidermy? For pokemon i don't think I could do tear duct vision since its not an original character or a realistic one. 

It looks kind of weird to me but I dunno.

Mister Pink has just handed me a DVD with a bunch of PDF files on them.

These are a collection of books for various roleplaying games.

I spot a copy of Cyberpunk v3 on there and all I can say is "Cyberpunk v3? You bastard!". If somebody gives you a copy of that book, they've probably been struggling for a while to find a way to say, hey, don't ever speak to me again.

I am pretty new to all of this and just curious, has anyone worn a partial without a head or would that look weird? Like just having tail, ears, and handpaws with long pants and regular shoes and no head. I think I'm a little claustrophobic so I don't know how well I'd do with a head. e.e; Thanks!

I'm going to be putting a bunch of fur up for sale soon but want to discuss this one on its own first.



I went fur shopping this week and amazingly came across a rust red fox fur in a local store. It is *not* the exact same colour as the discontinued Monterey Mills Red fox - but to all my senses it is identical in every other way.

For all I know it is left over from a light (and so unsold) dye lot of that fur. And I actually quite like this lighter fur (something like raw sienna in colour) as it is perhaps more of a realistic shade.

I bought a few yards for my own use, but (given how this colour and length is so desired) I'm willing to sell them. It is not cheap fur, so I'll willing to let it go for $50/yard ($25 for a half yard) plus shipping.

I also have a few yards of a unique chocolate brown 3 inch fur I've never seen anywhere else. I used it on my targ (chest and bottom of the ribcage). It's of the same quality and length and I'll let it go for the same price. I can upload a photo on request.
